Hi, my name is Chelsea Buczek, I’m a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a passion for the field of communications. Welcome to my digital portfolio!
I received an associate’s degree in journalism-mass communication in 2014 from Tulsa Community College, it was then that I realized that there were many more aspects of communication that intrigued me. Thus I found myself going back to school in 2017 to pursue a bachelor’s in strategic communication.
While pursuing my bachelor’s I sought to immerse myself in as many aspects of the field as I could through internships and job opportunities. As an intern at OG Farms, Avenu Consulting and Black Wall Street Arts I gained experience in internal communications, stakeholder relations, marketing communications, media relations, content creation, events, social media marketing and analytics. Honing these skills allowed me to earn positions at Chimera Cafe where I’ve put a majority of my social media marketing and event experience to work over the past couple of years. Most recently, I have joined the team at the Tulsa Girls Art School as the communications and development coordinator.
In addition to the knowledge I’ve acquired in strategic communication, I’ve also spent time studying mass media with an emphasis on production, broadcasting and journalism. I earned state certifications in broadcast sound engineering, TV production and editing between 2008 – 2009, and worked as a production assistant for Rogers State University (RSU TV) from 2010 – 2012.
My fiance also works in the field of communications. We have one big fur baby named Josephine and enjoy traveling and live music.
